Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

BioShieldUV Inc. is committed to making bioshielduv.com usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers and keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility is our responsibility, not our vendors', and this statement describes what we do — honestly, including what is not finished yet.

The standard we target

We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the W3C. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most commonly referenced for the Americans with Disabilities Act and for state accessibility laws.

Current status: partially conformant

bioshielduv.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which means some parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard. We are working through the site page by page, and we will update this statement as that work lands. We do not claim full conformance, because we have not completed an audit that would evidence it.

What is in progress

  • Reviewing product pages and checkout for keyboard-only operation, visible focus, and screen-reader labelling.
  • Writing meaningful alternative text for product images rather than relying on automatic generation.
  • Verifying colour contrast across the store's templates against the WCAG 2.1 AA ratios.
  • Adding a recurring accessibility check so that new pages are reviewed before they publish.
  • Building our own on-page accessibility preferences — text size, contrast, reduced motion, stronger focus — served from our own site rather than by a third-party overlay.

Third-party content

Some content on the store comes from third parties, such as payment checkout, embedded video, or sites we link to. We cannot always control or correct accessibility problems in content we do not run — but if you hit one, please tell us. We will pass it to the provider and, where we can, give you the information or complete the transaction through an accessible alternative.

If you cannot complete a purchase, we will place the order for you

You should never have to give up on buying something because a page will not work for you. If any part of checkout is not usable for you, tell us by email or chat and we will complete the order on your behalf:

  1. Tell us what you want — a product name, a link, a photo, or a description is enough.
  2. We confirm the items, the shipping address and the full total back to you in writing, so nothing is charged before you have agreed it.
  3. We send you a secure payment link you can use on any device. No card details over email or chat, ever.

This is a standing offer, not a favour, and it applies to any customer who asks for it. It is also how we get you what you came for while the underlying barrier is being fixed.
